Weekly News, Spring B, 27th Feb 2026
Announcements: We are so excited to celebrate World Book Day with everyone next week! All children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or in PJs (with shoes and coats for outdoor play still, please). We cannot wait to share lots of books together. Please see the Monday Memo for details about our school book swap next week too!
English: This week in English we have been continuing with our work on non-fiction writing, perfecting our final fact files to create our own class books. We have been so impressed by the children's wonderful writing this week, you are all absolute superstars! In Spelling, we have been exploring a variety of different spelling rules, like when to remove the E when adding -ing. Ask the children if they can tell you about our "rule breakers" too!
Maths: This week we have been working on multiplication and division, particularly looking at how we can use arrays to help us to carry out repeated additions. The children have worked so hard to solve problems and apply what we have learned to create their own arrays too. Well done, Year 2, you are on a roll!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Allan, Miss Sumal and Miss Desmarais
