Another busy week with lots of fantastic learning from Reception!
Phonics - words ending with -s
Tricky words - we, me, be.
Some words we have written - cups, pots, dogs, bags.
Maths -
This week, the children have continued to engage with activities that develop their understanding of composition, or the numbers within numbers. A key focus has been on exploring ways to represent numbers using the Hungarian number pattern (die pattern). These key representations will help to underline the ‘5-ness’ of 5, and provide structures that will support exploration of its composition and its relationships with other numbers. The children are working hard to secure their understanding of the pairs of numbers that make 5, and then use double dice frames to begin to explore 6 and 7 as numbers that are composed of ‘5 and a bit’.

Continuing our learning of people who help us, we have had fantastic discussions on the roles people play in our community and our experiences in seeing these people when we are out and about. If you would like to come into Reception to talk about your job role, we would be very happy to see you! Please speak to class teachers or email admin to arrange a time and date.
