Maths -
We have enjoyed exploring 3D shapes this week, learning that 3D shapes have 3 dimensions; length, width and height. The 3D shapes we have learnt about are: cylinders, cones, square-based pyramids, cubes, and cuboids. We explored the properties of each shapes, then discussed where we would see these in our environment: ice cream cones, dice, cereal boxes, footballs and glue sticks. Have a look for these shapes around your home!
Topic -
We read the lovely story We Are Together this week, which is a story about the importance of showing kindness and compassion to everyone we meet, and how this builds a sense of community. We had a lovely discussion on how we can show kindness to people around us, before writing independent sentences.
PSHE - we'll be discussing our transition to year 1 over the next few weeks, where we'll be looking back at our lovely year in Reception, what we are looking forward to next year, as well as any feelings we may have. We'll be making pictures for our new teachers to take with us on transition day, and will be writing our thoughts and any questions down as a class, so our new teachers know what we're thinking, and can answer our questions.
Notices - we will be writing out letters to our families over the next few weeks, with the plan to post them on the last week of term, please bring in a stamp as soon as possible so this can happen, thank you!
Have a lovely weekend!
