This week we have enjoyed starting our new topic ‘Where can we explore?’
We shared the story of ‘We’re going on a bear hunt.’ We talked about the different places that the family walk and made the noises to represent the different habitats. When it was raining we went out to the big playground and splashed in the puddles, listening to the sound that our wellies made when we jumped.

As part of our new topic we will be talking about places that we have been to including places we have visited/been on holiday to. We will be putting each place on a map of the world. Please talk to your children about different places or counties they have visited.

We have also been talking about positional language this week and using on, under, in front, behind and next to, to describe where an object is for example the zebra is under the rainbow.

Our nursery rhyme this week was round and round the garden. We used actions when singing the song and talked about words that started with the same sound linked to the story e.g. gate, garden. Our sound of the week was z. We listened to the z sound in the words zip, zoo and zebra.
