This week we started our new topic "How do things grow?"
We talked about the flowers and insects that we can now see in the garden and drew pictures of them. We also planted a range of flowers and vegetables including peas, beans and pumpkins. We are going to look after them and give them water and hopefully they will grow! We listened to some haiku poems and used our imaginations to think about the nature in the poems.
In our pen disco we drew a swirl. We started in the middle and drew around in an anticlockwise circular movement. We practised drawing them in the writing area. Some of us used the swirl pattern to draw snails that we saw in the garden.
In phonics we have we looking at the f sound this week. We listened for the f sound in the words flamingo, fish and flower. We also blended the sounds in the word fan and farm. Our rhyme of the week was Mary, Mary quite contrary.
Please could you bring any library books back on Monday as we will start going to the library again from next week.
If anyone has any spare seeds, pots or compost that they would like to donate to nursery it would be greatly appreciated! We would like to use them to create a garden centre roleplay area.
