A busy first week back, we hope you had a lovely half term!

Phonics -

Graphemes - c, k, ck, e, u (recap)

Tricky words - I, is, the (recap)

Maths -

This week, the children have continued to engage with activities that underline the purpose of counting – to find out ‘how many’ objects there are altogether. They have reinforced their understanding of cardinality – that the last number in the count tells us ‘how many’ things there are altogether in a set of objects – and they have further practised their 1:1 correspondence skill, by counting numbers at the same time as moving or tagging objects.

Topic -

Our new topic of 'what is all around me?' Has had us looking at seasons this week. We have defined each season, discussing what weather we would expect to see, what we would wear and the different activities they bring. We have had a go at colouring in 4 trees to represent each season and writing the initial sound of that season.

We have had a few jumpers go missing last term, if you have a jumper at home that does not belong to your child, please return it so we can hand it back to its owner - thank you!
