Autumn A Week 6

Week Commencing: 6th October

A fantastic week of learning in Year 2.

Announcements

In science we have been learning about Animals and their habitats. As part of this, the children are designing and creating their own habitat. Please send your child in with a cardboard box in a named bag ready to create their habitat.

A shoebox size is ideal, but packing boxes will work fine too. Please do not use empty food containers, due to allergies. Please have these boxes in by Friday 17th November. If you have any concerns please let us know. Thank you!

English

This week in English we continued to look at the book ‘How to make friends with a ghost’ by Rebecca Green. We learnt about imperative verbs and the children got to boss us around! They then wrote their own commands about how to look after a ghost and illustrated them.

Maths

This week in maths we finished our unit of place value, the children have all been working so hard and should be very proud of themselves! We are now beginning to look at the topic of addition and subtraction.
