Announcements

Library day: Tuesday

PE days: Monday and Wednesday

As the weather gets colder, please bring in wellies and waterproof outer- wear.

English

We read the book Jasper’s Beanstalk by Nick Butterworth and learnt how to retell and sequence the story in order. We also learnt how to use a capital letter for the days of the week, names and places.

Maths

We have had fun sorting objects in the classroom by colour, type and size. We had a go at counting objects from a larger group using tens frames and cubes.

Phonics

We are reviewing Phase 3 sounds and words with two or more diagraphs e.g. queen and thicker. We have also recapped some of the tricky words from Reception and it has been amazing to see how much they have retained. We started reading practice this week and books will be coming out this Friday.

Topic

The children learnt about natural materials in Science and practiced lots of different types of lines in Art. In Re, we discussed what we are grateful for and came up with some wonderful ideas.
