This week we shared the story Dave’s Cave. We talked about the differences between where we live now and where cave people lived. We then used the crates, wooden planks and pieces of fabric to make our own caves.
In the garden we were very excited to use our new slack line. We used our core muscles to help us move across it. It had also given us a new opportunity to practise waiting and taking turns. We have also been enjoying using the mud kitchen to make mud pies and cakes!
In maths this week we have been looking at the number 4. We have been finding 4 in different places e.g. 4 legs in a table, 4 seasons, 4 points on a compass. We looked at different pictures and sorted them into 4 and not 4.
Our rhyme of the week is 1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive. We have been creating sound patterns using words from the rhyme. Our sound of the week is u. We listened to the initial sound in umbrella, under and upset.
If anyone has any garden tools, seeds or compost they no longer need and wish to donate we would be very grateful. We will be using them during our topic next half term.
