Weekly News, Spring B, Week 2
6th March 2026
Announcements: Wow! What a wonderful week we have had celebrating World Book Day together. It was such a joy to see all of the children's fabulous costumes and PJs and to share our favourite books together. Well done, Year 2, you made us all so proud with your wonderful work!
English: This week in English we have started our new text Julian and the Mermaid, looking at the way that illustrations can help to tell a story and creating our own sentences to match. We have been looking at present, progressive tense - thinking about how we can write in the present in the present using words ending in "-ing". We so enjoyed exploring The Black Book of Colours on World Book Day, using our senses to describe our favourite colours to a person that cannot see. We are so proud of the beautiful writing that the children produced this week, well done Year 2.
Maths: This week we have been continuing to look at multiplication and division - especially multiplying and diving by two. We have explored this practically using arrays and writing number sentences in our books to examine the link between multiplication and division.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Allan, Miss Sumal and Miss Desmarais
