What a fantastic half term we have had the children have settled in well, made lots of new friends and have been very busy! This week we have been learning about Diwali and looking at the seasonal changes around us. We used clay to create Diva lamps and used chalk to make Rangoli patterns.
We looked at pumpkins and talked about their colour and feel. We washed them, drew them and cut them open to find out what was inside. We also made pasta bracelets using autumn coloured pasta.
In our pen disco we continued drawing circles, we practised drawing them one at a time by saying round and stop. We drew our circles in different places including on the ground, the whiteboard and in the garden using paper on clipboards.
Our nursery rhyme this week is wind the bobbin up we have been finding words that rhyme with floor, knee and clap. We also filled in the missing words when our teachers stopped singing.
After half term we will be answering the question ‘What is around me?” We will be talking more about autumn, using our listening ears to listen to the world around us and talking about things that we see on our way to school.
We hope you enjoy your half term holiday and we will see you back on the 3rd November.
